Last week my son (Ross) and I tested for our Fifth Degree Black Belts at the AAU Taekwondo National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Tonight we got word that we both passed and are promoted to Fifth Degree.

We were two of the three candidates testing for Fifth Degree. There were also two testing for sixth and two testing for seventh degree. We had to perform numerous kicking and hand techniques, Forms, demo sparring, full contact sparring, and several power breaks through 5, 4, and 3 boards as well as an advanced technical break. Then there was an interview which touched on much of our written biography and thesis. It was strenuous, but fun.
